WITH DAMIEN LOVEGROVE & PIET VAN DEN EYNDE
Tuesday, January 26 and Thursday, January 28, 2021.
8 PM - 10 PM CEST
Book your spot before January 21 and pay only €30 instead of €50 for both sessions together.
Damien Lovegrove is one of the most famous European portrait photographers and a source of inspiration to amateur and professional photographers alike. His energy shines through in his work. After two highly successful online sessions in May (Lovegrove Portraits Deconstructed I & II, the recordings of which are available for purchase here), I’m super excited to host Damien again on January 26 and 28 for…
Lovegrove Portraits Deconstructed III: 'From Hollywood Glamour to Figures in the Landscape'
Lovegrove Portraits Deconstructed IV: 'On the Road with Damien'
In each of these two live online sessions, Damien carefully deconstructs a number of his best portraits. So we have kept the format of the first two sessions, because of the great feedback we got, but the images that Damien will show and deconstruct are all new. He’ll explain his reasoning behind a particular pose, why he used a specific light, or where he drew his inspiration for a particular framing. This is a live online event, so Damien will be talking live and you'll get a chance to ask questions.
We’ve deliberately kept the price of this two-part online lecture very affordable. Plus, there’s an early bird discount: book your spots for both sessions before January 21 for only €30 instead of €50. No discount code needed. The price is already adjusted… but only until January 21!
If you can’t make it to one of the live sessions or even both, you can still book a spot because every participant receives a download of both sessions.
Lovegrove Portraits Deconstructed will be less about gear and f-stops, but all the more about offering you ideas and inspiration on how to create portraits that stand the test of time, regardless of camera brand or megapixel count. In these two highly entertaining and informative sessions, Damien will discuss each photograph in turn: the way it was lit, the composition, narrative and the often crazy stories behind the pictures. Expect to be entertained, informed, educated and inspired all at once by a modern day master of photography.
In the May webinars (available for purchase here, in case you missed them), Damien showcased photographs from his personal collection taken between 2001 and 2013. This was an exciting era for him as he was learning new techniques and developing a distinct style.
The years that followed were his most prolific, though and more refined. He partnered that wealth of experience gleaned over the previous 30 years with a new found creative freedom. For the first time in his life, he was shooting for himsef. He ditched the weddings and portrait clients and shot exactly what he wanted to shoot. This passion for non commercial portraits attracted hobbyist photographers and the era of Lovegrove Adventures was born.
Lecture One: Tuesday, January 26
In the first of the two online lectures, Damien will share with you how he carried his photographic style into all of his genres, from Hollywood glamour to figure in the landscape. The styling cues that echo through the photographs are simply beautiful and beautifully simple to replicate. He will focus on his best images taken between 2014 and 2018. The first part of the evening will be dedicated to black & white images, the second to colour.
Lecture Two: Thursday, January 28
In this lecture, you'll get to follow Damien around the world as he applies his techniques to creating beautiful environmental portraits. The first half of the session will take you to Cambodia, the deserts of the USA, Tuscany and Morocco. The second half will show you an inspirational story of how Damien dealt with the 2020 Corona crisis: by buying a new car and taking it on an epic road trip between two lockdowns to the car's country of origin: Italy
Finding it hard to choose between both sessions? The good news is... you don't have to! Your registration fee entitles you to watch both sessions, either live and/or via the downloadable recording you'll receive afterwards.
Thanks for an incredible evening with Damien Lovegrove. Super interesting!
